Where can I see a sample of data?

The Dotlas catalog offers documentation of datasets that we list online. To view the actual datasets samples, you may visit any one of the following:

• Snowflake Data Cloud

Note that the latter two options require a Databricks and Snowflake account for your organization respectively.

I can't find data samples for my specific location

While we may not display samples for every geographic location, our data format remains consistent across different regions. For example:

• Restaurant data follows the same structure whether it's from New York or Tokyo
• Menu data maintains similar fields across different countries

If you're interested in a specific region not shown in our samples, please contact us. We can likely source the data for your target location.

How fresh or recent is the data?

Our data refresh rates vary by product type and source:

• Real-time Data: Some datasets are updated nearly continuously, providing current market snapshots
• Regular Updates: Other datasets refresh daily, weekly, or monthly

The update frequency depends on:

• Data point volatility
• Analysis requirements
• Source availability

Can you combine datasets or enrich them with my own data?

Yes. We regularly help customers:

• Join our datasets with CRM or internal data based on a mutual NDA (Non-disclosure agreement) and accepted privacy policies.

• Normalize and clean external menu data for cross-market comparisons

What are the data usage terms?

You can read more on our privacy policy and terms of service. Purchase of data products can be one-offs or subscription based periodic deliveries. Some data maybe subject to a data licensure, feel free to ask us more about it.

Pro-bono data access for academic purposes?

• Unfortunately, we currently cannot share industry data towards free or subsidized academic / educational pursuits.
• We do make some geographical datasets fully and publicly available, so you're free to directly consume those.
• If you're an institution that is looking to license data for non-academic or non-tutelage purposes, feel free to contact us.
